Decisions Move the Process Along

The professor who was overseeing my thesis once told me that. These days, I'm putting it into practice. I decided to pass on going to the interview today, with the option to call and reschedule at a later date. I just couldn't fully make the commitment or waste my time, and theirs, by going through the motions today. I've been searching and researching more opportunities and I am sure that I will "get in where I fit in" when the time is right.

I got my application submitted for junior college and now its all a matter of working out a few kinks in their generalized requirements and getting enrolled in the math class. At this late date, I am really hoping that the class isn't full. That would really be irritating. Completely my fault, but irritating nonetheless. On the other hand, if it were full and I did have to wait yet another semester (God forbid) it would only give me complete freedom to choose a job position without time restraints, which could mean the difference between part time and full time. We'll see how it all goes down in the next few weeks.

Hope it all works out in your favor. Nothing like setting out to accomplish something & getting it done...when you want it!

@ "At this late date, I am really hoping that the class isn't full." You need a whippin! We've only been discussing this for uh...months now! Im'ma beat YOU!

On the job thing...It's like entering a relationship. It can be unhealthy if entered for the wrong reasons and without fully exploring the union. If you were feeling connected, you would know. Explore your other options and see what "feels right" for you. I support whatever you choose - but you already know that!

XOXO

@ Candace: Thanks! I'm sure everything will fall into place in time =).

@ Traci: Please don't whoop me. Please mama please! See, what had happened was... you know what? Bump that. Its your fault that I just now did the application, and just now got a response, and just now realize that I could have been done this, lol. You never told me that I didn't have to wait until I had completely finished at Cal to submit an app for the community college Miss Transfer Student! Uh huh, I called you out. What? What? LOL.

You know I am clueless about any system outside of high school and Cal, lol. I had no idea that getting into the community college was just a matter of submitting a darn online form and getting an email back!! I would have BEEN did that, and BEEN enrolled in that class. ::in my cutest baby voice:: I saawweee. My bad.

Let think good positive thoughts. The class WILL NOT be full, and I WILL get in =)

Btw, math; my nemesis! I took algebra in CC (10 years ago). Then I went to grad school and had to know calculus. So grateful for my black brothers who stayed up until 2 am to figure out those problems. Thanks again to Tony, Sterling and John!!!!

Ms. Bar B,

You can do it! I did! Didn’t like the stress but when it was over…smiled, raised my chin…high!!!

Well I know I like that quote, and I will have to use that for my life as well. Good luck on the class. That has been my experience plenty of times.

Here's a tip that worked for me when I was in college: Ask the professor if you could sit-in, join the class, do the work with actually signing up. Someone will drop, they always do, so you take their spot. Now I graduated in 2002, and this worked at Kent State then. Not sure how things are done now, but it's worth a try. Keep me posted.

Sorry...typo: without actually signing up.

Thanks Kimberly! I agree that a team of tutors and supporters are key to doing well in a subject that is not your thing. I am lining them up now, lol.

@ Arlice: Thanks for that suggestion. Its worth trying if I have to =).
