The Holiday Rush

I felt like Arnold and Sinbad in the movie Jingle All the Way as I called every Target in my area trying to track down a last minute gift for Miss J, and then traveled to 4 stores to get all the last minute stuff I needed for tomorrow. That wasn't really on my Christmas Eve agenda, but that's what happens when your Christmas shopping money becomes available at the last possible second. I thought the last bit of my Christmas joy had died yesterday, but it took some breaths this morning and was removed from life support.

So, crisis narrowly avoided and the cheer and smiles will shine brightly tomorrow as Miss J and I awake with our grandparents and celebrate this time together.

I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

And.. a VERY Merry Christmas to YOU and Lil' Miss J! OMG... I was in a store yesterday (on Christmas Eve)for the first time in YEARS! CRAZINESS, I say! I've never seen anything like it! I'm glad you were able to get what you wanted for your lil girl! :)

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

@ Shannon: I can imagine. I was a shopper on a mission yesterday. I knew exactly what I was looking for, and me and my shopping cart bypassed slow pokes and indecisive shoppers like I was in the Fast & the Furious, lol. Merry Christmas.

@ Renee: Same to you and your family.

Y'know I felt a certain sense of warmth from reading this. I understand the pressure, the hustle, the bustle...even before those years that Joe and I scrambled about on our last paychecks, were the years my dad created magic at the very last minute. And you know what...I'm FOREVER grateful as our my children and of course the wonderful Miss J. Merry Christmas, friend.

I climbed out of bed early on Christmas Eve to pick up last minute do-dads. I understand the last minute shuffle, especially when money comes in the knick of time.

Hope Miss J. had a great day.
