In the Halloween Spirit

I ran all over town today. My town and neighboring ones to get last minute Halloween stuff. This year we are doing a lot of firsts. I have NEVER carved a pumpkin in my life, but I will this year, because Miss J really really wants to. In 6 years, we have NEVER handed out candy, waits for backlash, but this year we will, because Miss J really really wants to. And this will be my 3rd year dressing up, because Miss J really really wants me to. Needless to say, I just can't say no to the girl. Not when I get hugs and kisses and big smiles and bright eyes in return for giving in.

I got bags of candy, a bowl to hold it all, and managed to get myself a costume. All before having to head off to campus for class. I'm looking forward to getting all dolled up. I was surprised to find so many choices still in the local Halloween store. Probably because parking is so horrible in downtown Berkeley. I had to do a few laps around blocks before I found a spot within walking distance. Well worth the gas though, since I was able to get everything that I needed, and in my size! I can't wait to break out the camera and capture all of the fun. With 2 parties and trick or treating, there is a lot to be had.

Sounds like it's going to be so much fun. I think my baby is feeling "too cool" to dress up at 11 so all he is talking about is going trick or treating! My how they grow...

Me on the other hand, I have never dressed up for Halloween, if you can believe that. Don't quite know what has kept me from it, but I need to figure it out b/c I have always wanted to be in a French Maid costume :-)

Guess I should go dressed as a scare-DEE cat LOL!!!

I'm wondering if Miss J will ever get to that point, lol. I totally feel him on the trick or treating though, I'm still contemplating getting myself a bag, lol. My costume is definitely gonna be treat worthy, haha. Girl, you better get your French Maid on, you would make a beautiful one.

wow. i remember so vividly your post from last year when y'all dressed up. seems like it wasn't that long ago at all!

time just rolls on by....

well anyway, i'll be on the lookout for those pics, cause you and miss j definitely rocked it in '08!

GOOD FOR YOU! My kids carved pumpkins tonight with their daddy! I watched and took pics of course! We still have 2 more parties on Friday and possibly one on Saturday! Halloween is our FAVORITE AROUND HERE! Cannot wait to see you in that ragdoll costume! It's HOT!

Thanks Tie!! Last year was sooo much fun. I think this year will be even better.

Thanks Shannon... I am looking forward to being all hot and stuff, lol. Maybe your pumpkins will give me some carving ideas, lol.

I can't wait to see the photos. We are going to North Carolina to have fun at my best friend's parents. I am not dressing up and depending on my son's mood he may not either. But we have his costume just in case.

Awww. I'm sure, costume or not, both you and Mekhi will have a fabulous Halloween.

Enjoy the weekend. I won't be doing anything, but sitting here healing from getting all busted up, plus I may get in a few baby blues cries too.
