Unusual Winter Weather

Rain, hail, snow... all in the Bay Area over the course of a couple of days. The rain and the hail are native, but the snow? Yesterday there were reports of snow in the Oakland hills. We are use to rising to meet frost covered cars and lawns, but being able to roll a snow ball anywhere in the immediate Bay Area is unheard of. We've been here before. I'll never forget the year that swimming pools were frozen over. Just a sign of the times. Unstable weather patters. Global warming really is upon us. In a few more years, we may not have to travel to Reno, NV or Lake Tahoe to play in the snow, and this will in no way be a good thing.

Cue the tall mug of chocolately delicious warmth.

I thought I was going to freeze in mid stride when I went to go pick up Miss J from her after school program. Ice cold rain, paired with an ice cold breeze... time for mittens, hats, scarves, can I get a ski mask?! Its not like its been this way for a couple of weeks and I am finding it hard to adjust. No. It just literally snowed today in some areas and even the areas that are suppose to get snow in Nor Cal are getting it way ahead of schedule. I some times feel like we have started the "snow" ball rolling and soon it will all just spiral completely out of control. Each year the weather is noticeably different. Colder winters, hotter summers and unseasonal springs and falls. Not to mention, stronger storms in the coastal regions. Hopefully we can somehow put the breaks on this destruction of the earth.

What changes in weather patters have you noticed in your area, if any?

I'm continuously amazed that anything survives here in AZ at all. The weather is pretty extreme one way or the other. Desert winters are cold and dry...cracking skin and dried airways=no fun.

(It's quiet over here-where's the music?)

It is unseasonable cold and the next day unseasonable warm and tornado weather. Crazy! Snow in Louisiana and Texas, now Cali? What have we done?

It's gonna be 70 here in Atlanta today. Hey I'm rolling with it... I heard about the snow out there. The earth is more powerful than us humans. It can dispose of us anytime it chooses, just ask the Dinosaurs.

wow. i woulda never thunk it. (haven't been watching news)

guess i'm a bit naive about cali, thinking it's sunshine, flip flops, and tank tops all day and night, lol!

ok. i knew it got cold, but snow?

here in louisiana we're having our usual roller coaster weather: snow last thursday, near 80 degrees yesterday, 50 for the high today, and back in the 70s tomorrow. ya learn to live with it...

It's not too bad living in Ohio. True, going outside in the winter still means risking sliding on the ice and breaking your neck and you are to NEVER, EVER, EVER go outside without hat/gloves/scarves/earmuffs, etc. But at least our summers are nice. :)
