Are You Ready for Some Football?

Truthfully speaking, I'm not much of a sports girl. Not because sports isn't a "girl" thing or because I'm too girlie for it, but because its just not my thing. I'm not into the NFL, MLB, NBA, or PGA. And although I am a blood sports kind of girl, I don't keep up with the MMA either. I just not interested in gathering around the tv, not even for the Super Bowl. That doesn't mean that I don't know how to show team spirit though.

When I was asked to create this 49er inspired blanket, I was a little intimidated. Not only did I have to zero in on the team's logo and colors, I didn't even know if the colors would be available in the type of yarn that I needed for a baby blanket. Also, what would the die hard fans and new owners of this blanket think about my rendition of their favorite team?

In the end I did find the perfect yarn for this project and I have gotten great feedback on it thus far. I had a lot of fun thinking up the design, and taking a leap outside the box to create the perfect gift. This blanket is being purchased for a new baby who is due to arrive late February/Early March. There is no doubt that this little fan will be the coolest tailgater EVER!

Let me apologize in advance for any of your followers that turn their nose up at profanity. With that said...

This muthafucka is GORGEOUS!!! For real beautiful as hell! You did that, girl! Immaculate! YOU GOT GIFTS :-)

"I have gotten great feedback on it thus far". LOL. Thank ya. I don't think the apology for the profanity is necessary because I don't apology for mine. A Place of Comfort is a Cuss Freely Zone =).

Can't wait to see what my friend says when she comes to pick it up this afternoon. I have been dying because I'm ready to post the pics to Facebook, but trying to wait for her to come get it first so she can be surprised, lol.

Nice! I like it! Oh I'm so glad you've gotten enough time freed up these days to flex your creative muscle, it does a mind/body good y'know! Go girl!

PS No sports for me either, so glad I married an artist. You can still drink beer whilst watching a documentary! ;)

@ T: Amen to that! Nothing like a good documentary, and I'm sure the beers seal the deal =). I had fun making this one... I think I was running off the excitement of actually finding the colors.

now that, my friend is an EXCELLENT idea! I'm going to definitely keep this in mind. My family is all into the NY Yankees (baseball) and anyone would love to receive a Yankee blue and white hand-made blankie for their baby! Hmmm... anyone having a baby soon?????

Hehe. Shannon is now thinking in baby =). If you think of anyone just give me a holler. I'm happy to think and work outside the baby color codes =). I know your kiddos are bigger babies, but if you're interested in any blankets for them just shoot me an email and we can talk about it.

lol @ first comment!

yeah, this is beautiful. i'm amazed by crochet, and you do it wonderfully.
