Longevity as Trope

What began as a year of happiness and hope, is dwindling into one of despair, ugliness and loss.

We all knew that sadly, Patrick's days were numbered, but it doesn't make losing him any less painful. Its the way in which he was lost that is so painful. Cancer is like a superbug. It strikes and destroys, without any prejudice. It is resistant and unforgiving.

I can't even say anymore about it at this point because its a subject that cuts far to deeply...

Such a huge loss. There was a special something about Patrick Swayze...I'm not one to get all celeb-struck, but he was special.

RIP Swayze. I too feel there was something special about Patrick. I loved him in Ghost.

There was something very special about Patrick. He just has this swagger about him. It was in the way that he walked, the way that he danced, the way that he talked, the way that he smiled, the passion behind his acting; just everything about him was amazing. His strength was so admirable. I am such a fan. One of my favorite Patrick Swayze movies is To Wong Foo.

I was too young when the movies Dirty Dancing and Ghost came out. But I watched them when I got much older, I even watched the SNL clip when he hosted and acted as a gogo male dancer along side Chris Farley. Now when I see these clips on YouTube and I see his vitality on screen it is so hard for me to see that same face and how it dramatically changed during the end of his life. All that can be said is that his struggle is over and he is in a far better place.

Yep. It is extremely hard to watch someone be destroyed physically by the illness. It such a rapid process too... watched the same thing happen to my grandmother and my dad.
