Say It Loud!

I'm black and I'm proud...

Black Graduation 2009

By this point, Miss J has had quite enough of congratulating mommy and being a part of all the action, so she opted out of "walking" with me and chose to sit in the audience with two of her little friends, who would be watching their mommy walk.

We were all seated and still jamming to James Brown's voice and waving to family and friends.

Me and my good friend Rue of Outdoor Afro. The mommies were definitely in the building!
(Stop by to check her out and learn a little something about how black folks actually do love the great outdoors)

I was feeling very good after exiting that stage. I had my family, friends and other supporters watching. I was seated amongst an amazing, beautifully intelligent crowd of people of color. Everything and everyone was happy.

One more celebration this week and its back to reality...

Final papers, summer classes, sleepless summer nights spent researching and writing my thesis, possible Fall classes if said thesis is not completed by August, possible Fall classes if I don't figure out what the heck I'm gonna do with the rest of my life find a job and a place to live after said summer classes are finished and thesis has been completed. And when its all said and done, I'm hoping that all of my hard work (and some not so hard) will pay off wonderfully.
