Until I am back on campus for my final semester at Cal... and history is made official with the swearing in of President-Elect Barack Obama. UCB is holding a public viewing of the inauguration on a large screen in front of Sproul Hall. I anticipate the plaza being full of excitement.

I am due in class at 10am, but me and my Obama gear will most likely be amongst the crowd. My first class is a "discussion section", which probably will not meet since no lecture will have taken place... and probably no Obama supporters will be present to discuss anything anyway. I am considering keeping Miss J out of class that day to revel in this event with me. There are so many of us who would have loved to be present in DC, but many factors just wont allow it. This will be the next best thing. On November 4th, Miss J was there with me holding a sample ballot, adorned in a "I Voted" sticker after the fact, so why not be there with me so that she can see first hand, the result of what being at the polls actual meant?

What are your inaugural plans?

I emailed my congress woman and senator for tickets to the inauguration but they were not able to accomomdate my request. Bummer. I will be at work on this day, but I can still watch it from a TV we have here.

Yeah, that is the fate of many. EVERYONE wants to be there and they only have so many tickets and so much space... and it was curtains for us folks with little ones anyways. Continuous standing, freezing (literally) cold weather... disaster waiting to happen when you have someone who has to pee every 5 minutes and who is always hungry, lol.

you blog song is my myspace profile song... i love that keyshia cole song... I feel like a drag queen when it comes on though... like I have to be extra over the top and dance all hard...lol

but anyway... I am trucking down to DC and I cant wait. I dont have tix to the inaug but just being in the city to experience everything great about this moment in history is going to be enough for me

I sure will watch the Inauguration too. I want to be part of this historic event and be proud of it. Btw, don't forget to join me tom for DeCode Wednesday!

I bet Miss J will be thrilled to be part of this wondrous event:) What a great memory to have.

We are planning to be in D.C., as a Homeschool field trip. We are going to stay with family. Planning to leave in two days, but maybe later.

My step-son is going to D.C. with his mom, who lives there... we're going to be glued to our T.V. sets, with our babies close by so that they can see history--just like when we stood on the line for almost two hours to pull the lever for our guy. What a joyous day it'll be!!!

I am so happy and proud to say that I will be in DC! My hubs got invited VIP style to some events! We will be in full effect! I probably will blog and vlog about it!!

I for one will not be at work, and my kids will not be going to school. Not on this day. I don't know yet what my plans are though. I'm just so excited.
