On The Open Road

No signaling, no frantic waving of the hand, no warning, just a sudden swerve to the right... right in front of my car.

Me: Wow! You fucking idiot!
Miss J: Whoa... How do you know it was a boy?
Me: I didn't say boy.
Miss J: You didn't say "dude"?

There use to be a point in time when Miss J. couldn't quite understand words or road rage. It seems that we have now entered a time of selective hearing, which worked out well for me in this case. We have surpassed the days of her yelling "BITCH" from the rear window like a vicious little poodle.

I can't stand when people decide to get behind the wheel without actually having read the driver's handbook. One wrong move, one stupid mishap and a life could be lost. I try to be an extra careful driver, especially when my daughter is along for the ride. I don't "drive Miss Daisy", but I don't embody Danica Patrick either. Its all about obeying the rules of the road that have been created to protect our lives and the lives of others. Its about being vigilant and using common sense. I encourage all of us to be cautious drivers.

AMEN!

It's tough when they start paying attention to what you're saying. Then you really gotta watch it. That's why I let it all hang out on my blog.

I did a 10 pet peeves list from MamaKat's wed writing assignment today and one of them is asshole drivers...especially when my kids are in the car.

ha! too funny. especially her screaming "bitch."

ok...i know it's wrong to laugh and i don't promote such behavior in children, but still. i can just picture it.

people can be insane on the road.

Yeah, as I get older I have become a much more cautious driver. But I have had my moments of road rage where I get caught up in the moment and start screaming and yelling. Sometimes it's been pretty vicious, and then when it's over I always feel bad. I try to restrain myself these days.

Yeah when I go off, I feel stupid afterwards because my kids are usually right in the car with me. God help us... lol!

Somehow I am able to maintain my cool when driving. I have perfected the 'was amata wit u" New York look and hand gestures.

I have to admit laughing at little Miss J. Cussing in the back seat. And I love that she now has selective hearing.

Okay, so I laughed too-but it's just because I have a special place in my heart for the ornery!

I'm not a driver, but I am a cussing passenger! And agreed, cautious drivers are few and far between.
