Soaking Up Summer Sun

For the first time during the entire summer Miss J. and I got the much needed opportunity to spend a day at the beach. Although the ocean was off limits to swimmers and surfers, it didn't matter to us because we can't swim anyway, and the only waves that we catch are the ones that come crashing ashore to devour our feet.

While Miss J. snacked on chips and played in the sand to the beat of iTunes, I relaxed on our shared beach towel with a GWS article in one hand and a highlighter in the other. I really need to get some beach accessories, a nice beach chair and umbrella would feel mighty nice right now... A sea of umbrellas and chairs, volleyball games and beach patrol keeping a tight eye on ambitious beach goers who dared to go into the water past their ankles. We were there amongst all of this, together, getting kissed by the sun.

Miss J. loves going to beach. Mainly because of the blanket of sand that covers the place. I absolutely hate sand if it is any other place besides the beach. I am so glad that Miss J.'s new school's playground is sand free, no more dealing with sand in a freshly shampooed head for us. Since we are having such great weather this week it was a real treat to be able to get away on a mini vacation. It was just what the both of us needed.

The beach looks so great! I went twice this summer, but I want to go once before Oct. Send positive vibes my way, and it will happen.
